For over ten years, Aaron Matthews has been making award-winning documentaries that have appeared on national and international television, and in numerous film festivals around the world. The following is a brief list of his films, awards and credits.

My American Girls, a feature length documentary about one Dominican family's immigrant experiences in Brooklyn, won "Best Documentary" at the San Francisco Latino Film Festival," was nationally broadcast on PBS's premiere documentary series, "P.O.V.", in 2001 and 2002, and has been broadcast in Latin American and Europe. It is currently being broadcast on the Discovery Times Channel. His previous documentary films, Taddo, about "the oldest barber in Brooklyn, and The Art of the Moment, an in-depth look at three professional New York improvisers, played at numerous festivals nation-wide and have been broadcast on the History Channel, as well as public television.

With over twenty-years of experience as a cameraman, De La Roche has arrived at the top of his field, filming for award-winning projects on HBO, PBS, and National Geographic Television. In 1998, he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Camera Work for WNET’s series “City Life.” In addition to his professional qualifications, De La Roche has extensive experience filming in foreign settings, including Cambodia, Nicaragua, Switzerland, and Kenya. De La Roche holds a Ph.D. in English Literature plus an M.S. in Architectural Preservation from Columbia University and brings a keen eye for the humanities to his work in film

jennifer mittelstadt

Jennifer Mittelstadt, has a Ph.D. in American history from the University of Michigan, and is a scholar of the history of Post-World War II American politics. She is currently Assistant Professor of History and Women’s Studies at Penn State University. Mittelstadt is interested in exploring not only the past, but the legacy of postwar racial politics for present-day America. Her book on race, gender, and welfare-to-work programs will be published by the University of North Carolina Press in 2005.
